“Dark skies, rain is coming — dark, dark…”

When I was little, my grandma used to hum this song to comfort me whenever it rained. Now, as an adult, I think back to the hardships she endured and the golden years she lived through. The beautiful Formosan blue magpie, the flower tiles rich with blessings — they symbolize the cherished days of her time.

My grandma’s love and care, and the land of Taiwan where I grew up, nurtured me like a mother would. Like a glimmer of light in the darkness, she taught me not to fear the storm — to face the future with courage.
