"I believe design is an imagination of stories and concepts. Our task is to transform this imagination into the ideal form in our minds and present it to the audience, allowing them to experience it as if they were part of it."

Title

Hair salon emotional murder case

Description

An old-fashioned barbershop holds millions of emotions: the companionship among family members, the frustration of a bad haircut, the whispered rumours a barber overhears, murder cases in the gossip magazines… all unfolding within this unique space.
This fading place, filled with intense memories, blends into a strange mixture of passion, murder, love, and hate.

Inspired by childhood memories and family bonds, this isn’t simply about getting a haircut—it’s a special moment. In such a setting, family members reveal sides of themselves rarely seen. In the barber’s chair, we share emotions and stories that are hard to express at home. Looking back as an adult, I realise this became a unique way for me and my family to connect — an intimate emotional exchange only we understand.

Design-wise, the overall silhouettes and materials draw heavily from the traditional Taiwanese barbershop as the main inspiration. Towelling fabric and striped textiles serve as the key visual elements, creating a nostalgic yet slightly eerie atmosphere.
The prints are derived from the common newspaper advertisements found in barbershops, embedding the deep connections and conversations I share with my family into the details — an extension of emotional memory.
