"Don’t wait around for an interesting topic to appear—instead, use design to make any topic interesting. When you do this, your work will no longer be limited by boundaries."

Description

The public faces a range of daily disasters—worsening air pollution, improper waste and energy management, extreme weather events, and more. With a vision of a future world plagued by catastrophe, this project begins with a dystopian backdrop and focuses on how fashion design can respond to extreme environments and resource depletion.

The "New Era Project" presents wearable items designed to assist daily life—such as independent breathing systems and bionic arms. The use of flexible fabrics at key joints highlights the functionality and protection that clothing must offer in extreme situations.

The overall design adopts a heavy-duty, washed, distressed style, combined with discarded screws and metal materials, allowing the natural wear of garments to withstand the test of time. This evokes a broader acceptance of sustainable aesthetics and reflects the evolving relationship between humans and nature. It embodies design as both a response to and an imaginative solution for real-world crises.
