Description

This work grows out of a gaze into fragments of memory — moments both heavy and light that have accompanied the creator for a long time — preserved as prints, infused with the organic forms of earth and nature, and hand-cut from interfacing before being ironed piece by piece onto fabric, as if memory itself were layering onto the body.

As the printmaking continued, the desire for color gradually diminished. This became an ongoing process of self-recognition — a kind of discipline — reducing a complex world to its most essential code. The tension between black and white was, in the end, enough. Every print carries the trace of the hand that cut it.

The embodied soul of the work is the albino “white spirits” — they are the true protagonists, a beam of white light weaving through memory and forest, quietly present throughout.
