Admission Pathways

At Shih Chien University’s Fashion Department, we strive to make the admissions process easy and accessible for all applicants. Our dedicated admissions team is here to guide you every step of the way, from course selection to application requirements.

Whether you're a prospective student or simply seeking more details about our fashion courses, local or international, we're here to support you as you take the first steps toward your creative future.

Undergraduate Program (BA)

Pathway 1: University Day Program Admission by Selection
(A) Star Recommendation: Group 1 Disciplines
Evaluation Criteria:

  • Overall academic ranking percentage in school.

  • English score in the Academic Proficiency Test.

  • Chinese score in the Academic Proficiency Test.

  • Social Studies score in the Academic Proficiency Test.

  • School ranking percentage for English-related courses.

  • School ranking percentage for Chinese-related courses.

  • Total score of Chinese, English, Mathematics B, and Social Studies in the Academic Proficiency Test​.


(B) Application-Based Admissions
Stage 1: Academic Proficiency Test.
Stage 2: Exam, which includes the following:

  • Document review.

  • Portfolio interview: Focussed on portfolio, design sensitivity, cultural depth, aesthetic understanding, and intellectual judgment.

  • Practical skills test: Creative design.

  • Academic proficiency test.


Pathway 2: College Program Selection
Exam content includes:

  • Results from project work and internship performance (including skill areas).

  • Review of learning documents.

  • Portfolio interview: Focussed on portfolio, design sensitivity, cultural depth, aesthetic understanding, and intellectual judgment.

  • Creative design: Emphasis on design thinking and aesthetic creativity.

  • General examination.


Pathway 3: College Entrance Examination
Required subjects: Chinese, English, Mathematics B, History

Pathway 4: University Night Program

  • Admission by Review: Portfolio evaluation

  • Application Admission: Based on Academic Proficiency Test or General Examination scores.

Postgraduate Program (MA)

Master's Program

Eligibility: All graduates from universities that are recognised by the Taiwan Ministry of Education or those with equivalent qualifications.

  • Admission by Selection: Interview (includes portfolio and oral exam)

  • Admission by Examination: Portfolio interview

In-Service Master’s Program

Eligibility: All graduates from universities that are recognised by the Taiwan Ministry of Education or those with equivalent qualifications, with relevant work experience (work experience obtained during study is also accepted).

  • Admission by Interview: Interview (includes portfolio and oral exam).

University Transfers

Transfers to both the Day Program and University Night Program, require the following:

  • Second-year transfer: Portfolio review.

  • Third-year transfer: Fashion illustration and construction evaluation.

Local Admissions

International Admissions

Applications for International Students

Applications open in February and close at the end of May each year. Required documents include:
 

  • Copy of high school diploma or equivalent (with official school stamps and certified translations in Chinese or English).

  • Copy of passport.

  • Official transcripts with certified English translations.

  • Statement of purpose.

  • Two letters of recommendation.

  • Health certificate in English or Chinese from a local public hospital.

  • Bank statement showing adequate financial support.
