Ting-Hu
Department Director
I am Ting-Hu, a proud 2015 graduate of the Fashion Design Department at Shih Chien University. Today, I serve as the Director of the Dance Department at HuaGang Arts School, but my career did not begin in dance—it started in fashion design.
In my final semester of university, I had the opportunity to intern at Jason Wu in New York. This experience exposed me to the highly professional and expansive world of the fashion industry and made me realize how much more there was to learn. During my internship, I was involved in design, pattern-making, and factory coordination, all of which provided me with a solid industry foundation.
After graduation, I gained diverse professional experience in retail and public relations. However, my deep passion for dance eventually led me in a new direction. By combining my creative background with administrative management skills, I transitioned into arts education.
As the Director of the Dance Department, I am dedicated to helping students explore the intersection of dance, design, and performance, fostering a multidisciplinary artistic perspective. I am also honored to organize dance competitions and workshops in Taiwan, passing on my experience to the next generation. These events not only enhance students’ stage experience but also facilitate local and international artistic exchanges, further expanding the influence of our dance department.

Educational Highlight
One of the most influential courses I took at Shih Chien University was the Foundation of Creation course. I loved its emphasis on creative ideation, guided exploration, and attention to detail—qualities that are just as crucial in dance education. This course trained me to approach artistic creation from different perspectives, allowing me to better guide students in choreography and lesson planning. It encourages them to explore more innovative ways of presenting dance while refining their attention to detail.
