Alexander Wu

Director

Hi, I’m Alexander Wu, and I graduated from Shih Chien University’s Department of Fashion Design in 1996. After graduation, I launched my own brand, 7/10 homme femme, and later returned to Shih Chien to complete a Master’s degree. Returning to Shih Chien for my Master’s degree was an invaluable experience that broadened my perspective on design. My first job was a collaborative design group with some classmates while also working as a designer for a startup brand. Over time, my career led me to China, where I currently serve as the Director of MJU:T, a menswear brand under the Marisfrolg Group. My daily work feels a lot like being a doctor—people constantly come to me with problems, and I help diagnose and solve them with creative solutions.

The major turning points in my career were starting my own brand and later taking the leap to work in China. There’s no single ‘correct’ path in this industry—just follow your heart and take the leap when opportunity knocks. My proudest achievement? Still being in the fashion industry after all these years.

Educational Highlight

During my time at Shih Chien, I juggled my studies with various part-time jobs, but what truly made an impact were the incredible teachers I met. They provided me with absolute creative freedom, allowing me to explore my own path without restrictions. That kind of support is rare and was instrumental in shaping the designer I am today.

Experience as much as you can. Take risks. Meet people. Connections are important in every industry, but the most valuable thing you’ll gain is the perspective that comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone.

See what others have to say....

Model & Educator

The best part of my time at Shih Chien University was the freedom my professors gave me. They never crushed my passion for design—instead, they nurtured it.
